How to Apply for CalFresh Benefits

  • Come to 2550 Paulin Dr. Santa Rosa between 8 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. (Directions to 2550 Paulin Dr.) You may also you may apply online or, if coming to the office is a hardship to you and you cannot apply online, a phone interview may be possible. Call 707-565-2715 to see if you qualify for a phone interview.
  • One adult household member or authorized representative must sign the application for CalFresh benefits under penalty of perjury.
  • When your paperwork has been turned in, the Human Services Agency will set up an interview to go over your application. In some cases, if you bring your paperwork to the Paulin Dr. building first thing in the morning, your interview may be scheduled for later that same day. You may want to bring these documents with you when you turn in your paperwork, just in case you are given a same day interview appointment. Your paperwork will be accepted on the same day it is turned in, even if there is no interview slot available on that day. If you cannot be seen that day an appointment date/time will be given to you. If you are determined to be eligible your benefits will begin from the date you turned in your request for CalFresh benefits.
  • An eligibility worker will interview you at the CalFresh offices at 2550 Paulin Dr. The interview may be held with the head of household, spouse, the authorized representative, or any other responsible household family member. A face to face interview is usually required. There are some exceptions to this rule. (If coming to the office is a hardship to you, a phone interview may be possible.   • At the time of your interview, please bring the documents listed here with you, including verification of your income and expenses. If you cannot get all the information together by your interview date, you will have additional time to provide this information. Do not miss your appointment. If you need assistance in obtaining this information, please discuss this with your CalFresh worker at the time of the interview.
  • If you have all the documentation you need at the time of your interview, benefits could be available to you within 3 days.
